How To Keep Ants Out Of Your Washington Business

Your Washington business is no place for ant activity. These tiny pests threaten the construction of your structure, cause moisture problems, spread disease, and some of them even bite. If you want to guard your business from ant infestation, there are some habits you can put in place to minimize your exposure to them:

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness, and practice proper sanitation around the facility.

  • Keep all food in tightly sealed containers; don’t leave out pet food or any other food sources.

  • Eliminate any standing water, and any sources of excess moisture throughout the property.

  • Block off access points by sealing all cracks and crevices around the outside perimeter.

  • Keep branches, trees, and bushes well-trimmed, and directed away from the structure.

While these tips can provide you with a great jumping off point, there’s still no protection as reliable as that from the pest experts. Only continual visits from the pest professionals will give you the lasting protection your business deserves. The Dangerous Truth About Cockroaches In Your Washington Home

Cockroaches can invade your Washington home in some of the most deceptive and undetected ways. This might include hiding in packages that have been sitting on the porch, utilizing the sewer, and even jumping between shared walls if you live in an apartment building. When a cockroach is determined to find food, water, or shelter, there’s nothing that they won’t do to get it. These pests are not only tenacious but also easily lured into homes like yours by the simple presence of crumbs, spills, leaks, and you.

Part of the dangerous truth about cockroaches is that they thrive in places that humans inhabit and your home is one of those places. Once they’ve invaded your home, cockroaches leave behind feces that's almost impossible to spot along with shed body parts and saliva. These byproducts can contain pathogens that lead to salmonellosis, cholera, leprosy, and gastroenteritis to name a few. For complete cockroach protection, contact Miche Pest Control today.

How Professional Rodent Removal Helps Washington Homeowners

Professional rodent removal is one of the best investments that Washington homeowners can make in their properties and in their health. Perhaps the most important reason to enlist the help of a professional is due to the health hazards that come with rodents. These pests are linked with numerous bacteria, viruses, and diseases like E. coli, salmonellosis, leptospirosis, hantavirus, tularemia, and rat-bite fever. A trained professional has the skills, knowledge, and tools to mitigate any exposure to these issues. Professional help is key because it addresses the complete scope of an infestation where DIY baits fail. Mice can have up to 120 pups each year and rats are capable of having up to 60. With new pups being born every six to eight months, a large-scale issue is never far behind. Lastly, professional assistance will work to seal up entry points and prevent future rodent issues from taking place.

At Miche Pest Control, we provide homeowners with comprehensive rodent services that yield long-lasting results. We treat properties in their entirety in order to get at the root cause of rodents and prevent them from coming back. All of the products that we use during this process are people-friendly and are backed by our dedication to satisfaction. To learn more about removing rodents safely, contact us today.

The Dangerous Spiders Of Washington

Spiders lurk around Washington properties in search of their next meal and conditions that are moist and secluded. Though most of the species that residents will come across are simply a nuisance, there are some that are regarded as a very big threat. To start, there’s the brown recluse spider. This aptly-named spider is light brown in coloring and typically stays out of the way of people. With six eyes, the brown recluse is one of the most adept hunters in the spider family. The yellow sac spider is very common in the area and is an opaque yellow color, making it magnificent but somehow easy to overlook in outdoor settings. The wolf spider can also make an appearance, primarily in areas of brush and yard debris, and can be spotted by its fuzzy body and caricature-like features. Perhaps the most infamous spider in Washington is the black widow, which is known for the intricate webs it spins and its venomous bites. This spider can be easily identified by its red hourglass imprint and the fact that it primarily hunt from the web rather than on the move. For complete spider control, contact Miche Pest Control today.

Why Year-Round Pest Control Is A Great Idea For Your Washington Home

When pests plague your Washington home, trouble abounds. Rather than deal with infestations as they pop up, here are a few of the benefits of working with a pest control specialist throughout the year:

  • Seasonality. The city of Washington experiences a steady change of the seasons and with this comes a constant threat of pest problems. Whether that means ticks in the summertime or rodents in the winter, there is always an opportune time for pests to be an issue.

  • Protection from health risks. Many common area pests are linked with some health risks, for example, stinging insects can inflict serious allergic reactions on some people while cockroaches are affiliated with dysentery, and rodents are linked with salmonellosis and hantavirus.

  • Mitigation of property damage. In order to access your home, there are pests like wildlife, rodents, and termites that will wreak havoc on your property itself.

  • Limitation of other infestations. Some pests, like rodents, bring other pests with them when they invade your home, while some pests attract others, as with flies and spiders.

At Miche Pest Control, we specialize in providing homeowners with exceptional pest control throughout the year. Our residential offerings are customized to the specific needs of every house we service and with affordable prices that are built to your budget, protection from pests can always be within reach.
