Although considered seasonal pests, rodents such as rats and mice can infest South Jordan homes year-round. The Dangers Cockroaches Bring To Your South Jordan Home
Cockroaches in South Jordan aren’t just annoying but extremely dangerous as well. Roaches spread dozens of illnesses simply by crawling along surfaces and are known to contaminate a myriad of food sources around homes and businesses.
Cockroaches are also highly destructive. These pests rip apart cardboard, glue, and sometimes articles of clothing to pull out vital nutrients. The droppings they leave behind could potentially spread illness and may even attract other cockroaches to the area.
Don’t allow roaches to keep you from enjoying your South Jordan home. Instead, call Miche Pest Control for a thorough treatment both inside and outside the building.
Why Professional Pest Control Is Important For South Jordan Properties
Often, South Jordan residents will try to tackle pest problems on their own; however, these methods are usually costly, unfruitful, and lack professional experience. Some of the benefits of professional pest control include:
Limited exposure to health risks. Pests like cockroaches, fleas, ticks, and rodents are linked to illnesses like tularemia, E. coli infection, salmonellosis, hantavirus, leptospirosis, anemia, Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and hair loss.
Protection of property. It’s very common for pests to have the ability to damage a property very significantly. Termites eat through wood 24/7 and can force a foundation to collapse, while rodents chew at walls and electrical wiring, which can lead to house fires.
Reduced risk of pests. Working with a professional pest control company will not only correct existing problems but will also prevent future issues from developing.
At Miche Pest Control, we specialize in providing customized pest control for all of our customers. Our comprehensive offerings tackle pests from termites to rodents and ants to spiders. We treat both the interior and exterior of properties and promise to always offer the most competitive pricing in town. To learn more about our pest control programs, contact us today.
South Jordan's Guide To Ant Control
Ants are a very common issue for homeowners in South Jordan, as they’re easily attracted and can fit through almost any opening. In order to prevent ants from becoming an issue, try these tips:
Seal up crevices. There’s almost no opening that is too small for an ant, so methods like applying weather stripping for snugger-fitting doors and windows, utilizing door sweeps for front doors, and replacing torn window screens as well as ensuring that all windows have screens, are key.
Practice proper food storage. Ants are very attracted to sweet foods but they aren’t fussy. Be sure to always store food and pantry items in airtight containers.
Keep things clean. Things like food bits can easily lure ants inside the home as well so don’t allow dirty dishes to stack up, take the trash out routinely, rinse all cans and jars before disposing of them, and clean food spills thoroughly.
Fix moisture issues. Ants also require a water source, so address any leaking pipes, faucets, downspouts, and other fixtures.
Contact the pros. The most efficient way to keep ants out of your home is with professional ant control from a local pest expert.

Why Spiders Are Attracted To Your South Jordan Home
If you’ve ever spotted spiders in your South Jordan home and wondered where they came from or why they’re present, you’re not alone. The primary reason why spiders are attracted inside your home is probably due to an active infestation of at least one kind. They tend to eat pests like cockroaches, flies, ants, and certain various other flying insects. This means that seeing an abundance of these pests usually means that spiders are never too far away. Additionally, spiders are lured into houses because of moisture issues, like leaky faucets, pipes, and gutters. They also seek damp, dark, and cool places that are rarely visited, such as basements and attics. Other factors that can incite spider issues are an excess of brush and yard debris, openings in a home’s foundation and around doors and windows, or because they simply invaded personal belongings like camping gear.
At Miche Pest Control, we know how pervasive and pesky spiders can be, which is why we provide spider control as part of our ongoing residential pest control. With detailed inspections, safe and effective methods, and routine maintenance, we’re able to keep your home free from spiders no matter the time of year. South Jordan UT
South Jordan is a city in south central Salt Lake County, Utah, United States, 18 miles south of Salt Lake City. Part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, the city lies in the Salt Lake Valley along the banks of the Jordan River between the 10,000-foot Oquirrh Mountains and the 11,000-foot Wasatch Mountains. The city has 3.5 miles of the Jordan River Parkway that contains fishing ponds, trails, parks, and natural habitats. The Salt Lake County fair grounds and equestrian park, 67-acre Oquirrh Lake, and 37 public parks are located inside the city. As of 2020, there were 77,487 people in South Jordan. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 22.22 square miles, of which 0.09 square miles, 0.4 percent, is water.
Founded in 1859 by Mormon settlers and historically an agrarian town, South Jordan has become a rapidly growing bedroom community of Salt Lake City. Kennecott Land, a land development company, has recently begun construction on the master-planned Daybreak Community for the entire western half of South Jordan, potentially doubling South Jordan's population. South Jordan was the first municipality in the world to have two temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Jordan River Utah Temple and Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple), but it now shares that distinction with Provo, Utah.
The relative flatness of South Jordan is due to lacustrine sediments of a pleistocene lake called Lake Bonneville. Lake Bonneville existed from 75,000 to 8,000 years ago; at its peak some 30,000 years ago, the lake reached an elevation of 5,200 feet above sea level and had a surface area of 19,800 square miles. The elevation of South Jordan ranges from approximately 4,300 feet near the Jordan River in the east and rises gently to the foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains at 5,200 feet.
The city has 35 municipal parks and playgrounds that includes areas for baseball, softball, football, soccer, and lacrosse, volleyball, pickleball, tennis and skateboarding. Other recreational facilities owned by South Jordan City include the Aquatic and Fitness center, Community Center providing the senior programs, three fishing ponds stocked with rainbow trout and catfish by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and Mulligan's two miniature golf and two nine-hole executive golf courses.
Salt Lake County operates two regional parks inside the city. The 120-acre Equestrian Park that sits adjacent to South Jordan City Park. The park grounds contain a horse racing track, a polo and dressage field, indoor arenas and stables. The Salt Lake County Fair is held every August at the park. The 65-acre Bingham Creek Regional Park includes multi-purpose sport fields, a destination playground, a disc golf course, and biking and other multi-use trails along the creek. A 90-acre addition is in the planning stages that will include areas for BMX, basketball, pickleball, tennis and volleyball.
The 67-acre Oquirrh Lake sits inside 137 acres of park and wetlands located at the Daybreak Community. Recreational opportunities include fishing, sail boating, kayaking and canoeing. The lake has been stocked with trout, bigmouth bass, channel catfish, and bluegill. In addition to the lake, the Daybreak community includes 22 miles of trails, 37 parks and five swimming pools. The lake, parks and pools are privately owned by Daybreak's home owners association and are for residents only.
Privately owned, but open to the public, Glenmoor Golf course is inside city limits. Salt Lake County-owned Mountain View Golf Course is 0.3 miles north in West Jordan and Sandy-owned River Oaks Golf Course borders the Jordan River.
