Are Termites Common In Vienna, VA?
Each year, termites damage approximately 600,000 homes across the United States, with residences in Vienna being no exception to this rule. These issues are responsible for around five billion dollars in collective household damage and the typical affected household will incur $3,000 of their own damage. Because termites seek food, warmth, and moisture, essentially any household or structure that consists of wood in some form is vulnerable to termite attacks. The species of termite is indicative of what type of wood or food source they’re looking for, so if your home has suffered from water damage, dampwood termites are never too far away. And because of Vienna’s seasonal climate, there is a steady flow of opportunities for termite problems to develop, particularly during the warmer months.
At Miche Pest Control, our termite control services are well-rounded and effective, allowing us to care for your property in its entirety. We provide annual termite inspections, treatments with the Trelona® Advance® Termite Baiting System, as well as spot treatments for termite damage as well as living termites. The result of these methods is immediate relief and long-lasting results. To learn more about how your property could benefit from termite control, contact us today.
Three Problems Termites Cause In Vienna, VA
Termites eat through the wood around your Vienna property all day, every day if you let them. That’s how their damage is able to grow so extensively that it totals approximately 30 billion dollars annually to include crop and commercial building damage. Because of their insatiable appetite for wood, three of the major issues that termites are responsible for are:
- Allergic reactions like watery eyes and itchy skin, which is due to wood particles as well as fecal matter and shed body parts floating in the air.
- Damage to wood that includes buckling floors, doors and windows that are unable to shut, and mazes, which gives wood molding a shredded appearance.
- Other structural insecurities that include swollen ceilings, bubbling wallpaper and paint, and hollow walls.
When it comes to protecting your property and preventing the unsafe side effects of a termite problem, you need professional termite control from Miche Pest Control. We work with Vienna property owners both proactively, with annual inspections, and correctively, with EPA-approved products and methods like the Trelona® Advance® Termite Baiting System. Our techniques are designed to both get rid of active termite problems while also addressing the possibility of future issues.
