The Best Way To Protect Your Silver Spring Home From Pests
A pest problem can take the shape of something as simple as an ant invasion in your Silver Spring kitchen, but it can also mean something more insidious like a termite infestation. Regardless of what the issue at hand is, the most effective way to treat it is with professional help. By working with the team at Miche Pest Control, you will be protecting your household in ways that you never even thought possible. Our company has decades of experience working with local homeowners and treating the pest issues that they face. We bring this knowledge to your home during our inspection process, which is thorough and doesn’t miss a thing. We’re looking for hot spots and points of entry, as well as conditions that might lure pests in the future.
Our most common residential pest control offering consists of quarterly visits, during which we treat primarily the outside of your home, but we’ll tend to your interior as is needed. Some of the treatments we employ include spiderweb removal, crack and crevice spot treatments, granular application, power spray, and stinging insect nest removal. All of these services come with our satisfaction guarantee so that pests don’t need to be a problem ever again. For more information on keeping your home pest-free, contact us today.
Why Every Silver Spring Homeowner Should Consider Year-Round Pest Control
While most Silver Spring homeowners might think that they can handle a pest problem, working with a professional company on a year-round basis is one of the best investments that residents can make. The biggest reason for continuous pest control is that it prevents a gap in coverage. A lack of interruption in services means a home that is essentially much safer because it is pest-free without fail. An interruption in pest control can lead to subtle yet invasive problems like termites, cockroaches, and rodents, whose presence homeowners usually don’t identify until their problems are too hard to ignore. Not having ongoing pest control can also expose a household to health risks, further property damage, and other pest problems.
At Miche Pest Control, we provide our customers with the option of ongoing quarterly services in order to keep them as safe as possible. During our routine visits, we perform meticulous property inspections to check on our applications, touch up any areas that require it, and assess for new issues. This attention to detail is how we’re able to prevent future pest problems and handle any that arise as swiftly as possible. For more information on our services, contact us today.
Investing In Professional Pest Services For Your Silver Spring Home Is An Excellent Idea
Professional pest control is one of the best investments that you can make in your Silver Spring home. Not only do these services come with the experience of a fully trained pest control company but they also use professional-grade products and are backed by a pest-free guarantee. While DIY methods and other products are readily available at the hardware store, they’re simply not worth it. For example, mouse traps are usually fairly inexpensive, but they only address one mouse, if you’re lucky enough to place it correctly and use the right kind of bait. Unfortunately, a single mouse has up to 120 pups in a year, so that single mouse trap won’t be very helpful.
The investment of professional help from a team like Miche Pest Control will save you money, time, and all of the potential risks that having pest problems can instigate. Our services combine our knowledge of local pest behavior along with customized treatment programs and EPA-approved products, which means that we deliver results that are worth investing in. The Many Benefits Of Ongoing Pest Control Services In Silver Spring
Ongoing pest control from a professional company can work to care for your Silver Spring home in countless ways. Some of those positive aspects include:
- Extensive experience. By seeking assistance from a professional, you’ll benefit from their knowledge, training, professional-grade products, and certifications, all of which the typical homeowner doesn’t possess.
- Lack of interruption. The main crux of ongoing pest control is to get ahead of pest problems and make sure that they don’t become an issue. By treating and inspecting your home on a regular basis, you can nip potential infestations in the bud.
- Limiting other invasions. Many pests either transport other pests, like how rodents transmit parasites like ticks, or are known to attract other pests, as is the case with cockroaches and spiders. When you work with a professional, you can address all components of a pest problem.
- Mitigating your exposure to health hazards. Pests can initiate a significant amount of health risks like E. coli, hantavirus, giardia, and dysentery, so attempting to handle them can increase your level of exposure to these issues.
- Property protection. Termites are a pest whose sole desire is to eat away at your property, while pesky wildlife pests may destroy your yard and landscaping, but professional help can safely eliminate their presence and subsequent damage.

The Worst Fall Pests Facing Silver Spring Homes
It's not uncommon to think pests are only a problem during the spring and summer, as this is when many pests are most active. However, some pests become a big concern in the fall as the weather cools.
Rodents like mice and rats, and stink bugs, centipedes, and millipedes are only a few of the worst fall pests. They are an issue in the fall because they are searching for a warm location to overwinter. Unfortunately, our homes provide these pests with the conditions they need and often easy access.
These pests get into homes through cracks in the foundation, gaps around windows and doors, missing or damaged screens, uncovered vents, drains, chimneys, and damage along the roofline.
If you are worried about pests in your Silver Spring home this fall, you should contact us at Miche Pest Control immediately so we can implement the necessary measures to prevent their invasion.

Silver Spring MD
Silver Spring is a census-designated place (CDP) in southeastern Montgomery County, Maryland, near Washington DC. Although officially unincorporated, in practice it is an edge city. Silver Spring is the fourth most populous place in Maryland, after Baltimore, Columbia, and Germantown, and the second most populous in Montgomery County after Germantown.
The downtown, located next to the northern tip of Washington DC, is the oldest and most urbanized part of the community. Since beginning a significant renaissance in 2004, many new mixed-use developments combining retail, residential, and office space have been built. Downtown is in turn surrounded by several inner suburban residential neighborhoods located inside the Capital Beltway.
Silver Spring takes its name from a mica-flecked spring discovered there in 1840 by Francis Preston Blair, who subsequently bought much of the surrounding land. Acorn Park, south of downtown, is believed to be the site of the original spring.
From west to east, Silver Spring is bisected by four major creeks: Rock Creek, Sligo Creek, Long Branch, and Northwest Branch. Each is surrounded by parks offering hiking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, and tennis courts. On weekends, road closures in the parks facilitate bicycling.
