Why You May Be Having Mosquito Troubles In Reston
If you’re wondering why you may be having mosquito troubles in Reston, you should know that mosquitoes are drawn to our properties for various reasons. They build their nests in cool, damp areas, so it makes sense why vegetation throughout your yard is absolutely ideal for them. Mosquitoes are often found near shrubs and bushes, as well as tall grass and garden plants.
Sources of standing water throughout your property are also huge mosquito attractants. Most of a mosquito’s lifecycle occurs in water, which is why they find water sources and lay their eggs in them. Needless to say, anywhere where water can easily collect is conducive to mosquito activity. The best way to deal with mosquito activity in your yard is to rely on a team of qualified pest professionals.
Miche Pest Control is committed to providing quality mosquito control and prevention services that Reston property owners can depend on. We eliminate these parasitic vectors and any attractants around your property to keep you protected moving forward. Contact us today to learn more.
Mosquito Control: Four Tips For Property Owners In Reston
Because mosquitoes expose us to many vector-borne illnesses, it’s important to protect yourself and your loved ones from mosquito activity in the first place. Here are four mosquito control tips for Reston property owners to keep in mind:
1. Get rid of any sources of standing water. That means buckets, tires, pet water bowls, etc. Mosquitoes are attracted to pools of water.
2. Maintain your landscaping, making sure trees, branches, bushes, and hedges are trimmed regularly.
3. Use insect repellent and wear treated clothing when you are outdoors to protect yourself from getting bitten by mosquitoes. Also, wear long pants and long sleeves when possible.
4. Use window and door screens to prevent entry. Repair any screens that have been damaged or ripped. Keep doors closed as often as possible.
Though these tips can help, none are as effective or as reliable as help from pest control professionals. Call Miche Pest Control today to discuss your mosquito control and prevention needs. We’ll set up your initial service visit as soon as possible and get the process started right away.

Why Professional Help Is The Best Way To Treat Mosquito Infestations
When it comes to mosquito control and prevention, many property owners try to reduce mosquito populations independently. However, these methods are hardly ever effective. There are many common DIY treatments on the market, like citronella candles, preventative sprays, and repellent torches, but these mosquito control methods only provide short-term solutions.
The safest way to deal with a mosquito problem is to get professional pest control services. Only a team of experienced experts can address mosquito activity around your property in a full-scale way that tackles the problem currently as well as preemptively. Whatever kinds of property you have and whatever the nature of your mosquito problems, you can count on us to bring you the protection you deserve.

Reston VA
Reston is a census-designated place in Fairfax County, Virginia. Founded in 1964, Reston was influenced by the Garden City movement that emphasized planned, self-contained communities that intermingled green space, residential neighborhoods, and commercial development. The intent of Reston's founder, Robert E. Simon, was to build a town that would revolutionize post–World War II concepts of land use and residential/corporate development in suburban America. In 2018, Reston was ranked as the Best Place to Live in Virginia by Money magazine for its expanses of parks, lakes, golf courses, and bridle paths as well as the numerous shopping and dining opportunities in Reston Town Center.
Building on Robert Simon's emphasis on preserving green space and providing recreational opportunities, Reston features over 55 miles of walking and hiking paths for residents, with currently about 250 acres of woodlands and open space. Reston is noted for its tree canopy, which currently covers about half of Reston's total area. It is one of only 8 American localities to be a member of the worldwide Biophilic Cities Organization, which promotes the importance of protecting and promoting nature within urban areas.
Two golf courses are located in Reston. The 166-acre Reston National Golf Course in south Reston is certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Cooperative Sanctuary on the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The Hidden Creek Country Club was purchased in 2017 by Wheelock Communities, a real estate development company.
Reston contains four manmade lakes: Lake Anne, Lake Audubon, Lake Newport, and Lake Thoreau. Also within Reston's area is the 476-acre Lake Fairfax Park, operated by Fairfax County and which features boat rentals, a large outdoor pool complex called "The Water Mine", overnight campground facilities, and picnic areas.
