How To Keep Cockroaches Out Of Your Business In Herndon
As a local business owner, you should know that your commercial facility is filled with various cockroach attractants. There are readily available food and water sources, and it’s the perfect place for them to set up shop. Cockroach infestation in a commercial setting has large-scale repercussions, and it can have detrimental effects on your customers, employees, and overall reputation.
To keep cockroaches out of your business, eliminating access to food, water, and shelter sources is the best thing to do. Minimizing conducive conditions will significantly decrease your chances of experiencing a cockroach problem. An excellent place to start is to seal off open bags of food and clean up messes right away. Eliminate sources of excess moisture and reduce potential access points throughout the property, such as cracks and crevices.
If you do see cockroaches around your business, there are some things you can do. Putting out cockroach baits is a common method of roach control. Roaches take these baits back to their nests and spread them throughout their colony. Another solution is to use a boric acid solution to dehydrate cockroaches or use a roach-killing insecticide spray around the perimeter of your property.
While these tips can certainly help, none of them are entirely guaranteed to work on their own. The most effective way to exterminate and prevent cockroaches on your property is to call in the pros. Miche Pest Control is here for all your cockroach control and prevention needs, so reach out to us today for your detailed service quote.
Are You Accidentally Inviting Cockroaches Into Your Herndon Home?
As a local homeowner, it’s important to understand why cockroaches are coming into your home, and unpleasant as it is to hear, that there are several ways in which you may be attracting cockroaches into your space. Even though it’s your last intention, the fact of the matter is that it’s common for homeowners to contribute conducive conditions that lead to cockroach infestation.
Cockroaches are attracted to sources of moisture around your property. They’re drawn to sources of water and humidity. Suppose you neglect the maintenance of moisture levels around your home, ignoring common problem areas like the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room. In that case, you’re inviting roaches to take advantage of that moisture and infest your space.
They’re also drawn to all kinds of food sources, ranging from decaying matter in the garbage to fresh food on your kitchen table. Leaving these sources accessible increases the likelihood of roach activity. If you fail to clean up messes or take the garbage out, these issues can accumulate and lead to cockroach activity. The best way to guard your property against the dangers of cockroach infestation is to call on the pest professionals. Reach out to Miche Pest Control for quality cockroach solutions that you can feel good about.
Why You Need To Watch Out For Cockroach Invaders In Herndon
The danger of cockroach infestation comes from the unsanitary habits and unclean nature of these pests. Cockroaches are one of the filthier pests on the list, considering that they travel through sewage and decaying matter, feeding on organic food sources from all kinds of dirty places.
When they infest your property, they bring these germs and bacteria into your space and put you at risk for various harmful health conditions. Cockroaches also leave feces, saliva and shed skin wherever they go. Cockroach droppings contain allergens and lead to widespread contamination throughout your property, exposing you to severe illnesses like cholera, dysentery, typhoid fever, salmonellosis, and other conditions.

Herndon VA
Herndon is a town in Fairfax County, Virginia, in the Washington DC metropolitan area. It is the largest of three incorporated towns in Fairfax County. The actual dimensions of the town of Herndon are fairly small. However, the United States Post Office treats nearby unincorporated communities in northwestern Fairfax County as part of a Greater Herndon region, including Dranesville, Floris, Franklin Farm, McNair, and Oak Hill. Just over two acres of land in the town are technically in Loudoun County.
Herndon is part of the Dulles Technology Corridor, which Fortune magazine named the "Netplex" because of the presence of the headquarters of such companies as AOL, XO Communications, K12 (company), Verizon Business (formerly MCI, formerly WorldCom, originally UUNET), and Network Solutions, which began as the INTERNIC – the registry where every domain name was once administered. Some of those companies are within Herndon. Others have Herndon mailing addresses, but are located in unincorporated Fairfax or Loudoun counties; for example, south of the Dulles Toll Road.
Herndon contains the Herndon Depot Museum, the site of "Mosby's Raid on Herndon Station", which was a Civil War skirmish that took place on St. Patrick's Day, 1863. Also within the town is The Herndon Centennial Golf Course, the Herndon ArtSpace (a community art gallery), community center with basketball and racquetball courts and multiple baseball fields, and an aquatic center. Adjacent to the community center is Bready Park, with indoor tennis courts. Additionally, every residence within the town borders is within a mile or less of a public park. Herndon is home to a professional live theatre, NextStop Theatre, which produces a variety of plays, musicals, concerts, and educational theatre programming each season.
Nearby attractions include the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the National Air and Space Museum (which houses the Enola Gay B-29 Superfortress, a Concorde supersonic passenger airplane, an SR-71A Blackbird plane and the Space Shuttle Discovery), Frying Pan Farm Park, Sully Plantation, Reston Town Center, Mount Vernon, Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, Colvin Run Mill, Aldie Mill, Oatlands Plantation, Manassas National Battlefield Park and the Washington and Old Dominion Trail (which runs through the town).
The primary highway serving Herndon is Virginia State Route 228 and its truck route. SR 228 heads directly through the center of town via Elden Street, Monroe Street, Park Avenue and Dranesville Road. SR 228 Truck diverges from Elden Street southwest of downtown on Herndon Parkway, following that road northwestward, northward and northeastward around central Herndon, finally reaching Dranesville Road north of downtown. At the south end of town, SR 228 meets Virginia State Route 267, a high speed, high-capacity toll road which provides access to Washington, D.C. (via Interstate 66) and Washington Dulles International Airport.
