How Common Are Termites In Fairfax Station, VA?
Each year, termites damage approximately 600,000 homes across the country, and unfortunately, Fairfax Station is not exempt from this situation. Because termites are so voracious by nature and determined in their search to find wood, they will attack almost any property they find. Things like having mulch too close to a foundation, unseen water damage, or simply just the presence of wood and a few cracks for termites to fit through can be enough to develop an issue for local residents. This is how total termite damage, including buildings and crops, reaches 30 billion dollars each year, with homeowners making up five billion of that total. While most termite issues develop over the warmer months in Fairfax Station, once they’ve built a colony, their activity can occur throughout the year.
At Miche Pest Control, we understand how common termite issues are for local property owners, which is why we offer thorough and comprehensive termite control services. In addition to our reparative services like the Trelona® Advance® Termite Baiting System, we also provide yearly termite inspections to prevent issues before they start. Termite Damage Signs Everyone In Fairfax Station, VA, Ought To Know
The average termite issue in Fairfax Station goes undetected for at least 18 months, which is how they’re able to grow so out of control. If you notice any of the following signs, it may mean termite damage:
- The presence of mud tubes and mazes
- Swollen ceilings and floors
- Blistered wood
- Hollow-sounding walls
- Peeling or bubbling paint and wallpaper
- Piles of discarded wings or frass, which is sawdust-like termite feces
- Doors and windows that won’t shut

Termite damage doesn’t have to be isolating and overwhelming. At Miche Pest Control, we specialize in providing the most comprehensive and reliable termite control in the area. Our process always begins with a meticulous inspection of a property in order to determine the scope of the infestation as well as confirm the intruder as termites and not another wood-destroying insect. We also provide property owners who have yet to experience termite damage with annual inspections so that we can prevent problems before they happen.
