Wasp Control In Chantilly, VA

What Is Attracting Wasps To My Yard In Chantilly?

Have you ever held an outdoor gathering in your Chantilly yard and quickly realized a swarm of wasps was buzzing around? These issues occur very frequently and can be very dangerous to individuals. Some of the key factors that may be attracting wasps to your property are:

  • Fallen fruit from fruit trees
  • Spills of sugary drinks like soda
  • Overflowing garbage
  • Any food that’s been left out
  • The type of plants you have
  • A wooden deck that’s unfinished
  • Partygoers who are wearing perfume or scented detergents and hair care products
  • Warm and protective places for shelter
  • An array of other conducive conditions

Wasps can be very easily attracted to Chantilly properties, which is why at Miche Pest Control, we aim to provide homeowners with the highest quality wasp control around. The Dangers Wasps Bring To Chantilly Backyards

Recognized as one of the most dangerous insects in Chantilly, wasps bring a host of issues with them. To start, they are very aggressive and equally territorial pests, and if they feel provoked, they will attack individuals as a group. The result of many consecutive stings can result in anything from mild allergic reactions to difficulty breathing and, in the worst cases, they can prove fatal. If a wasp nest is built inside your home, wasps may cause significant damage to ceilings and walls. These nests may also attract other pests, which means secondary infestations and the specific problems that come with those.

At Miche Pest Control, we look to help Chantilly homeowners avoid these risks with the most reliable wasp control around. With quarterly services, our skilled technicians will remove any wasp nests in their entirety to keep them from returning. Additionally, we use EPA-approved products to treat your yard and prevent future issues. If any wasps appear between our routinely scheduled services, we’ll even re-treat your property at no additional cost. How To Prevent Wasp Infestations In Chantilly

Wasp infestations can be very dangerous for Chantilly residents. In order to keep them from occurring, try these tips:

  • Consider what you plant. There are some plants that are said to contain naturally repelling elements. These include citronella, rosemary, cucumber, and lavender.
  • Decorate your yard. Because wasps are so territorial, if they suspect that another colony is already present on your property, they’ll flee. Mock nests can be created with brown paper lunch bags or paper lanterns.
  • Watch out for food. When hosting outdoor gatherings or even enjoying a meal outside, always keep food covered, clean up after spills, and don’t allow the garbage to overflow.
  • Treat your wood. Paper wasps are particularly drawn to untreated wood as ideal places to construct their nests. Be sure to keep your porch, deck, and any other wood around your property in good working order either with paint, stain, or sealants.
  • Tend to your property. Something as simple as patching up the holes in your yard can be enough to keep wasps at bay.

At Miche Pest Control, we provide safe and effective wasp control that will protect your home and everyone in it. To learn more about these services, contact us today.

The Importance Of Wasp Control For Chantilly Properties

Wasps are one of the most territorial pests that Chantilly property owners may encounter. If they perceive a threat to their nest they are very likely to swarm and sting individuals en masse. The result of this scenario can be a range of allergic reactions that include everything from muscle pain and nausea to a fever and anaphylaxis. If a wasp nest is not properly removed, wasps will return from year to year to determine whether or not conditions on your property are still fertile. Getting rid of these pests on your own is an ill-advised task because of the dangers they pose, which is why professional wasp control is an absolute necessity for Chantilly property owners.

When you entrust the safety of your home to Miche Pest Control, we include wasp nest removal in our quarterly plans. Our technicians are experts in this process and are able to locate and remove even the most secluded of wasp nests. When you partner with us for wasp control, we will also treat the perimeter of your property with EPA-approved products that are geared at keeping wasps from returning. Chantilly VA

Chantilly is a census-designated place (CDP) in western Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. Chantilly is named after an early-19th-century mansion and farm, which in turn took the name of an 18th-century plantation that was located in Westmoreland County, Virginia. The name "Chantilly" originated in France with the Château de Chantilly, about 28 miles north of Paris.

Located in the Northern Virginia portion of the Washington metropolitan area, Chantilly sits approximately 25 miles west of Washington DC, via Interstate 66 and U.S. Route 50. It is located between Centreville to the south, Herndon and Reston to the north and northeast, respectively, and Fairfax 7 miles to the southeast. US Route 50 and Virginia State Route 28 intersect in Chantilly, and these highways provide access to the Dulles/Reston/Tysons Corner technology corridor and other major employment centers in Northern Virginia and Washington DC.

Chantilly was home to a number of colonial plantations in the 1700s, including the Sully Plantation (now the Sully Historic Site) built by Richard Bland Lee I. Other plantations included George Richard Lee Turberville's "Leeton Grove" (originally a 5,000+ acre plantation, the main house of which still stands at 4619 Walney Rd), the John Hutchison Farm, and the Chantilly Plantation, after which Chantilly is named. Cornelia Lee Turberville Stuart constructed the Chantilly Plantation and named it after the Westmoreland County plantation owned by her grandfather, Richard Henry Lee, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. During the Civil War, federal troops destroyed by fire the Chantilly Plantation manor house. One building remains, a stone house across Route 50 from the Greenbriar Shopping Center. After the Civil War, Cornelia Stuart, who had become deeply in debt, sold her 1,064-acre Chantilly estate. The advertisement for the sale referenced several "tenements", one of which was the Stone House.

The village grew during the 19th century, particularly following the construction of the Little River Turnpike to Winchester. The evolution of the Chantilly area into an outer suburb of Washington, D.C., gained momentum after 1980, as developers built residential subdivisions and commercial areas, filling in the farmland south of Dulles Airport.

Chantilly is located in western Fairfax County, bordered to the west by the South Riding CDP in Loudoun County, to the north by Washington Dulles International Airport, to the northeast by the Franklin Farm CDP, to the east by the Greenbriar CDP, and to the south by Centreville. To the southwest is Schneider Crossroads, not part of any census-designated area. The present center of Chantilly is located around the intersection of U.S. Route 50 (Lee Jackson Memorial Highway) and Virginia Route 28 (Sully Road).
