How Do Rodents Get Into My Chantilly Home?
Rodents are masters at entering Chantilly residences without homeowners ever knowing. Many times they squeeze through small cracks in your foundations, though if they have to, rodents can chew at these gaps to make them larger. In other scenarios, rodents will simply take advantage of a door or garage that’s been left open and walk right into your home. If there is anything that even resembles a hole or opening around your property, rodents will find it. This could be a crack in your bulkhead or a vulnerability in your side door. Rats are far more likely to climb than mice, so they may take advantage of overhanging tree limbs and other greenery and enter your home that way. They are also capable of scurrying along roofs and maneuvering through the sewer system as a means of entrance.
In order to keep rodents out of your home, look no further than Miche Pest Control. Our rodent control methods incorporate techniques like sealing up entry points with exclusionary materials as well as setting tamper-proof bait stations that we check on every two months. We promise to always be thorough and safe in our quest to create a rodent-proof living environment. For more information on how your home can benefit from rodent control, contact us today.
Four Things That Attract Rodents To Chantilly Properties
Chantilly property owners make their homes or places of business ideal for rodents without even knowing it. Here are the four key things that attract rodents to your property:
- Food. Rodents are scavengers and will eat anything they catch a whiff of. If you have excess garbage or food that’s been left out uncovered, rodents will find it.
- Water. Another key source of sustenance for rodents is water, so leaky pipes, gutters, and faucets all provide them with what they need. Additionally, areas of your property that are humid and moist, like basements and crawl spaces, are ideal for rodents as well.
- Warmth. When the temperatures cool off, rodents will likely look to any building as a source of heat, and better yet if they can find materials to build a nest.
- Clutter. Things like food residue, crumbs, spills, and even stacks of old newspapers are alluring to rodents looking for a place to call home.
At Miche Pest Control, we work with Chantilly property owners to combat the ease with which rodents can enter their homes or places of business. Our rodent control services are designed to be safe, with the use of EPA-approved products, and reliable, with bi-monthly inspections and re-services on an as-needed basis. All The Ways You Can Prevent Rodent Infestations In Chantilly
Once rodent problems have developed in your Chantilly property they can be very difficult to get rid of. Rodents reproduce nearly every month or so and are nocturnal in nature, which makes them hard to spot. In order to prevent rodents from taking over your property, try these tips:
- Tend to moisture issues inside and outside. Something as simple as a leaky downspout or gutter is enough to lure rodents to your property. If you notice these things, fix them. Additionally, remedy any leaky faucets, pipes, and other fixtures as they occur.
- Focus on landscaping. Rats are known to climb trees and hedges in order to gain access to the interior of your property. Trim back anything that’s touching your home or building.
- Practice proper food storage. One of the things rodents desire most is your food. Whether you run a restaurant, office space, or in your home, always keep food in airtight containers and avoid leaving anything out that may be overly ripe.
- Keep things clean. Rodents also love a mess, so clean up after crumbs and spills and clutter alike.
- Call the professionals. The safest, most reliable way to keep rodents out of your property is with assistance from your local pest control pro.
