The Dangerous Truth About Cockroaches In Your Chantilly Home

When cockroaches make their way inside your Chantilly home, they are a very difficult pest to get rid of and will do anything to access the things that they need to survive. Perhaps the most significant issue with cockroaches is health risks. Through their saliva, fecal matter, and shed body parts, cockroaches are commonly linked with the spread of illnesses like salmonellosis, streptococcus, staphylococcus, dysentery, and other gastrointestinal diseases. These same byproducts are also responsible for the irritation of allergies and asthma attacks. Some individuals have also reported an increase in anxiety and stress due to the negative connotations that come with having a cockroach infestation. Cockroaches pose an additional risk because they are notorious for being difficult to evict. Not only do they hide out of sight from humans, but they also reproduce at rapid rates, so where there is one cockroach, there are usually many. Some Chantilly homeowners may try to crush cockroaches but due to their hard exoskeleton, this effort is usually futile. The most common species, the German cockroach, is also developing a cross-resistance to many common pesticides, which makes them even harder to get rid of.  For the most effective cockroach control, contact Miche Pest Control today.

Five Quick Tips To Keep Dangerous Cockroaches Out Of Your Chantilly Home

Chantilly homeowners will want to do everything in their power to avoid having a cockroach problem, as these pests can be very detrimental to your health. To keep these pests out of your home, try the following five quick tips:

  1. Seal up your foundation. Cockroaches can fit through almost any opening in their quest to find food, water, and shelter. Tend to crevices in your foundation with caulk, install door sweeps, and apply weatherstripping.
  2. Tend to moisture issues. One thing that cockroaches can’t survive without is water, so cutting off a water supply is key in preventing a problem. Check for leaks often and if you spot any, remedy them completely.
  3. Be conscientious about food. Crumbs and a lack of hygiene are some of the most common ways that cockroaches get attracted to your property, so always store pantry items and food in airtight containers, limit the number of places where you eat, and dispose of any food that’s past due.
  4. Keep things clean. Clutter is something that cockroaches love, as is trash, so remove all stacks of old newspapers and take out the trash on a regular basis.
  5. Contact the pros. Due to the persistent nature of cockroach infestations, the best thing to do is contact your local pest pro for preventive maintenance and corrective services.

Cockroaches In Chantilly: Don't Leave Your Home At Risk!

When cockroaches invade Chantilly homes, the issues that can arise are significant and dangerous. Through their saliva, fecal matter, and body parts that are shed as part of the molting process, cockroaches are linked with the spread of giardia, salmonellosis, gastroenteritis, and cholera, amongst many other illnesses. Additionally, when particles of these cockroach byproducts spread into the air, they can also lead to asthma attacks and allergic reactions. In addition to the health risks that cockroaches are responsible for, cockroaches also need to be taken seriously because of their tenacious nature. Cockroaches can live for up to one week without water and even longer without food, so they have very little incentive to ever leave your property. They also seek warmth when conditions outside change, and this is a factor that many homes produce naturally.

At Miche Pest Control, we provide cockroach control that takes these risks into consideration and treats them seriously. With wall void treatments, sticky traps, gel baits, and residual liquid treatments, we protect your home from all angles. Our technicians are experienced in these dangerous pests and won’t stop until your home is completely rid of them. For more information on cockroach control that you can trust, contact us today.

Why DIY Cockroach Treatments Often Fail In Chantilly

Upon spotting a single cockroach in your Chantilly home, it’s very common for homeowners to address that individual pest. Sometimes they try to crush said cockroach and other times they’ll run to the hardware store for baits or traps. The main issue with these treatments is that they do not get at the root cause of why cockroach infestations are occuring in the first place. Additionally, they don’t come with a guarantee of service, and in many cases, will actually cease to work. The German cockroach, which is the most common species across the globe, is growing a resistance to many of these pesticides, rendering over-the-counter products useless. If you’re lucky and they do kill some cockroaches, homeowners will be left with dead cockroaches strewn about their kitchen, which can be very dangerous.

At Miche Pest Control, we are focused on providing the most reliable and safest solution to cockroach control. We use EPA-approved products, which are the most effective and health-conscious products available, and we guarantee the effectiveness of our treatments, which is something that doesn’t come with DIY methods.
