Are There Poisonous Spiders In Burke?

While most of the spiders that you may see in Burke are not harmful to your health, there are a few species that are dangerous and should be avoided. Both the black widow and brown recluse want little to do with humans and tend to be anti-social. They favor dark, quiet, and cool places both inside your home or business and outside, around your property. That means that they're likely to loiter in closets, basements, underneath porches, and in sheds. While neither spider goes seeking human attention, if they feel threatened or their web is disturbed, either spider is likely to bite, which has a venomous impact. In order to protect yourself and everyone on your property from these spiders, seek professional spider control from Miche Pest Control. Spider Prevention Tips For Burke Homeowners

Spiders are typically an indication that your Burke home has at least one other active pest infestation. In order to keep both spiders and the pests they feast on out of your home, try these tips:

  • Tend to your yard. Simple things like leaf piles, storing firewood too close to your home, and having overhanging landscaping are enough to make your property attractive to spiders and other pests. Aim to keep a tidy yard and always maintain at least 20 feet of distance between your home and any logs.
  • Secure your home. Fill any cracks in your foundation with silicone-based caulk, patch up worn window screens, install door sweeps, and apply weather stripping to the openings around doors and windows.
  • Address issues with moisture. One of the most important things you can do to keep spiders and other pests out of your home is to fix any leaky pipes, downspouts, gutters, faucets, bathtubs, and other fixtures. It’s also imperative to use dehumidifiers on an as-needed basis in places like the attic and basement.
  • Keep things clean. Cleanliness is one of the biggest factors in attracting pests that spiders eat, so remove all clutter, store food in locking containers, disinfect the surfaces and floors in your home routinely, don't allow dirty dishes to pile up, and take out the trash often.
  • Contact the pros. The most effective and safest way to keep spiders out of your home is with professional assistance from your local pest expert.
